Gooch & Associates provides consulting services to healthcare providers, both domestic and international.
Our focus is on issues that contribute to quality (performance) improvement and patient safety including accreditation by the Joint Commission (JCAHO) and operating systems performance. These services include not just traditional mock surveys and educational programs, but services to maintain continuous survey readiness and standards compliance. Our services to you include support with emerging issues, such as medical errors and patient safety and changes in standards or the survey process.[top]
To improve our clients’ systems and thus, ability to provide safe, quality patient care services.
We are more than ‘accreditation preparation’ specialists, although we provide that service and are very skilled at it. We use our skills and experience to benefit you and your patients. If we can help you in any way to provide services to your patients that are safer and of higher quality than they were before we arrived, then we achieved our goal. Thus, that goal is not focused solely on the short term accreditation survey, as important as that is, but on the longer term improvements that benefit you and your patients in a more meaningful way.[top]
We work for you and your patients. Serving the patient is why both you and we entered the healthcare field. Gooch & Associates maintains a dual focus of serving you and your patients.
Further, we help our clients by anticipating how changes in standards will impact them. We will not simply wait and react based on what has happened to others. Your success is our success.[top]
Our solutions are based on practicality.
- Our approach is a pragmatic one. We keep the patient in the forefront of our thoughts.
- Gooch & Associates will not recommend solutions that cannot be implemented in your setting or culture. We will not recommend a solution simply to meet an accreditation standard. Solutions must make sense in your setting.
- We believe in constant, accurate communication. You will always be told of what areas you are vulnerable.
- You will understand the rationale behind any recommendation we make so you can apply that rationale to other situations, as appropriate.
- We do not establish co-dependencies. We will work hard so that you will be able to stand on your own without us. But, we will be available if you need us.
