Gooch Receives Honorary President Certificate
Brian Gooch is privileged to have been named Honorary President of the Changshu No. 1 Peoples Hospital, an 1100 bed hospital in Changshu, China.

Brian E. Gooch (Bio)
Mr. Gooch is a principal in the firm Gooch and Associates. He has been providing consulting services in this capacity for almost twenty years. His consulting focuses primarily in the areas of infrastructure development and performance improvement.
Prior to that he consulted and served as faculty for the Joint Commission Resources (JCR). For over six years he was a surveyor for The Joint Commission in the hospital and ambulatory care accreditation programs. During that time he participated in the first international accreditation surveys with the Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) program and consulted for Joint Commission International (JCI). In all, he has surveyed or consulted for over 500 hospitals and healthcare organizations domestically and internationally.
Before he joined the Joint Commission, Mr. Gooch was employed by the American Hospital Association as a regional executive, serving the four states of Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, a region with over 1000 hospitals. He served in the U.S. Public Health Service and U.S. Navy for over 20 years attaining a rank of Commander. Besides positions as a healthcare executive, he was also a senior health care policy analyst. Further, while assigned as Chief of the Quality Improvement Branch for the U.S. Coast Guard, he oversaw the design and implementation of the Coast Guard’s first healthcare quality improvement program.
Mr. Gooch holds a Masters Degree in Healthcare Management from the Medical College of Virginia and a Masters Degree Human Resources Management from the University of Utah. He was graduated from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He is Board Certified in Hospital Administration and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Gooch is an accomplished public speaker having spoken to national groups such as the Medical Group Management Association and the National Managed Health Care Congress and to local and state groups such as the Dallas Business Group on Health and the Florida Hospital Association.[top]

For Domestic and International mock Joint Commission accreditation surveys we use ONLY consultants who have been trained by the Joint Commission. All of our consultants are experienced in a variety of settings, including community hospitals, military/ government facilities, academic medical centers, rural and urban settings, as well as single and multi-facility settings. Our experience also extends to non-acute care settings such as clinics, surgery centers, mental health, and nursing home settings.[top]
